The speakers invited to Wednesday's conference will represent the Baha'I, Christian, Jewish and Muslim faiths and how religious texts play into different forms of justice, whether it be eye-for-an-eye or focused on forgiveness and healing.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama'at is holding their ninth world religions conference on Wednesday May 24 at the Cochrane Ranchehouse at 7 p.m., an annual event aimed at reducing misconceptions and tackling world problems. This year, the conference will draw on the expertise of four different religious scholars to try and understand the role justice and forgiveness play in global conflicts.
"We talk about peace but we can't have peace without justice," said Malik Agyemang, one of the volunteers behind the upcoming conference, who feels to often people make rash decisions over informed ones when it comes to international crises.
"The situation in the world, there's conflict everywhere. We talk about peace but you can't have peace without justice," said Agyemang, pointing to conflict areas like Syria and North Korea where many people feel military powers should just bomb them and be done. But to achieve real peace there needs to be an understanding of the situation and attempts made to provide an outcome where justice is served with minimal killing.
