TRANSFER TALK
I read a headline that Spurs fans beg player to stay after WBA links ad it turns out to be about Vincent Janssen. Why are people bothering to beg?
The money talked about was £15 million, (€16.28m - AUS$24.39m - US$19.2m) that simply won't be enough to buy Janssen. There is no way we will take a loss on the Dutch international striker after one season, although it may not be much of a loss once you deduct add-ons from his original fee.
To sell him would mean us bringing in another out and out striker, which we don't look like doing. Who wants to play second fiddle to Harry Kane.
I recall stories suggesting we wanted more than £20 million (€21.67m - AUS$32.47m - US$25.57m) for Janssen earlier this summer, around £25 million (€27.13m - AUS$40.64m - US$31.99m) I believe, so it is highly unlikely that stories journalists throw £15 million at have any legs at all.
