Seventy-two students from Ahmadiyya Muslim Primary School were inducted as prefects in Narere, Makoi, yesterday.
This year the headboy, Tushaal Prasad, 14, and headgirl Akesa Domowai, 14, aim to improve the academic results of the school by supporting the teachers and students in any way they can.
Tushaal, a Year Eight student, said as headboy, he also hopes to achieve a better pass rate for the school in the Fiji Year Eight Examination compared to last year’s 80 per cent pass rate.
“I was very excited when told I was going to be badged as the headboy. I was a prefect last year and this is my chance to give back to the school,” he said.
