Ghana: TI Ahmadiyya AMASS and KASS book another semi-final clash for soccer competition


The quarter finals of the schools’ soccer competition came off on Tuesday as TI Amass piped Kumasi Secondary Technical School (KSTS) by a goal in the first match of the day.

TI Ahmadiyya SHS (Amass) SHS and Kumasi Anglican SHS (KASS) booked another semi- final appearance for the second time running in the on going Ashanti Regional Inter Schools and Colleges Soccer Competition 2017. The two schools based in the central part of Kumasi, clashed at the same level last season with Anglican getting the better of Amass.

Adu Gyamfi SHS replaced Opoku Ware School in the last four as the latter is the only school missing out of the semi- finals as it happened last year. The Jamasi based school will play Islamic SHS in the other semi finals.

The quarter finals of the schools’ soccer competition came off on Tuesday as TI Amass piped Kumasi Secondary Technical School (KSTS) by a goal in the first match of the day. The goal was scored by Kofi Awreko. But their brothers of Fomena Amass could not make their dream of having all Amass semi final possible when they were beaten by defending Champions KASS 2-1 in the second game. Elorm Fiadzigbe scored for Fomena whereas Philip Boadi and Iddrisu Mohammed  scored for KASS.

In the third and fourth games of the quarter finals, giant killers Juabeng and Sakafia were eliminated  respectively. Juabeng who stopped Opoku Ware School lost to Adu Gyamfi after by a lone goal after which Sakafia also lost to Islamic by the same margin. Sakafia also eliminated Prempeh College on Monday.
