Spurs could have a turnover of players this summer
Spurs have themselves in a bit of a mess over non-homegrown players, the rules for which are different in the Premier League than they are in the UEFA Champions League.
Vincent Janssen isn't in any squad and Goerges-Kevin N'Koudou isn't in the Champions League squad, while no place could be found for Juan Foyth, although Mauricio Pochettino would like him in the squad.
That tell you that both Jansen and N'Koudou need to leave and perhaps two others before we can buy just one non-homegrown player.
That is very unlikely to happen in January, much more likely to be the summer when contracts run out.
Mousa Dembele and Michel Vorm are both in the final year of their contracts, but both would need replacing whereas Janssen and N'Koudou would not, they don't figure anyway.
Dembele could conceivably be sold in January, but he has hardly played so sides are likely to wait until the summer when he will be free. Vorm won't be replaced in January so again, another keeper won't come in until then.
Vorm is now the number three at Sours having been overtaken by Argentinian Paulo Gazzaniga, who is looking like a decent number two now. Surely we will be looking to replace Vorm with a homegrown keeper, thus freeing up a non-homegrown slot.
Fernando Llorente is another the club will want to replace in the summer soDaniel Levy and his team have their work cut out getting players sold before being able to bring new ones in and that sounds very much like business later in the transfer window again, than early, perhaps not ideal amid Pochettino speculation.
Toby Alderweireld wanted to leave last summer and I would fully expect him to want to leave this summer, given he has a £25m release clause that will get activated.
There could be a fair turnaround of players this summer.
