Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today sought British role in intensifying global pressures on Myanmar to take back their evicted citizens who took shelter in Bangladesh.
"The international pressure on the Myanmar government will have to continue," premier's press secretary Ihsanul Karim quoted her as telling UK Minister of State for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office Tariq Mahmood Ahmad.
Tariq, also the Lord Ahmad of Wimbledon, paid a courtesy call on her at her hotel here this morning when Sheikh Hasina said Naypyidaw must be forced to return its displaced Rohingya nationals.
Briefing reporters after the meeting, Karim said the premier also sought the British as well as other country's supports for relocating the Rohingyas to a Bangladesh's offshore island from Cox's Bazar.
