(WINDSOR, ON) – A new peace monument will be unveiled on Windsor’s riverfront at 11am on Friday. It is a project of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Windsor. The religious organization will reveal the results of a project it calls a Peace Monument.

The work of art will be donated to the City and distinguishing features include the motto, Love for all, Hatred for none. The installation will include two plates, one with the Jama’at history.

Four benches will surround the structure, each with a Khalifa name and biography. They were added to offer a place of rest along the riverfront trail.

On its website, Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama‘at is presented as, “… a dynamic, fast-growing international revival movement within Islam. Founded in 1889, AMJ spans over 200 countries with membership exceeding tens of millions. AMJ is the only Islamic organization to believe that the long-awaited messiah has come in the person of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (1835-1908) of Qadian.”

Ahmad represents the metaphorical second coming of Jesus of Nazareth and the divine guide, whose advent was foretold by the Prophet of Islam, Muhammad. AMJ believes that God sent Ahmad, “… like Jesus, to end religious wars, condemn bloodshed, and reinstitute morality, justice, and peace.”
