COACH & BUS UK 2017

Focus Transport is visiting Coach & Bus UK which opened this morning at the NEC in Birmingham. 
Here's our first posting live from the show.

ENVIRO 200
Taking centre stage on the Alexander Dennis Stand at Coach & Bus UK is the new-look Enviro200.

With an impressive line up of both buses and coaches ADL say they are confident that they can push sales towards record levels and retain their premier position as the leading supplier to small, medium and large independent operators.

A £10m order for the new-look Enviro200 has been secured with Go South Coast The contract involves a total of 54 buses, all of which are 11.8m Euro6 Enviro200 models with an innovative “friends and family” seating area built into the rear section of the vehicle.



Andrew Wickham, Managing Director of Go South Coast, part of the Go-Ahead Group, explains: “We have for some time been pursuing a seating arrangement that provides a more sociable setting for our customers, creating a comfortable space for friends and family.
The first 13 vehicles will be delivered in the next few weeks and will go into service with Thamesdown brand in Wiltshire. These will be followed by a further 41 in the first quarter of 2018 that will join the Morebus fleet in the Poole and Bournemouth area.

TWO-AXLE PLAXTON PANTHER
Alongside the Enviro200 on the ADL-Mistral stand is one of the country’s most renowned coach models, a two-axle 53-seat, 12.8m Euro6 Plaxton B11R Panther, powered by a 430hp Volvo D11K430 six-cylinder engine with I-Shift automated AT2412F transmission. 


 THREE-AXLE PANTHER DEMONSTRATOR
In the outside display area next to Halls 17 and 18, Plaxton have a striking 14m three-axle Panther demonstrator on show.


It has just completed a successful promotional tour north of the border and is sure to be a big attraction. It is an 11-litre, 460hp with Volvo D11K460 six-cylinder engine with I-Shift automated AT2412F transmission. It is a 61-seat model with centre demountable toilet, three-point seatbelts, full air conditioning, monitors and DVD.


PLAXTON ELITEi ON VOLVO STAND
Meanwhile, the Volvo Bus stand (N4) is displaying an impressive Plaxton B11R Elitei finished in the eye-catching livery of Acklams Coaches, the Yorkshire based company with offices and depots in Beverley, Hull and York. The vehicle has been specially fitted out for corporate work and to operate as a team coach. It has a central kitchen and servery, rear lounge and full entertainment package, including seven monitors, VGA inputs, TV and WiFi.
