On Tuesday when I heard about the terror attack in downtown NYC my heart just sank. Born and Raised in NY I have seen how resilient we are and how we all just come together regardless of what challenge faces us.
On Tuesday evening I headed over to Chambers and Greenwich street with some of my #Muslim friends. We held up a sign that said "Love For All Hatred For None."
We went back yesterday and attended the interfaith Vigil as well. Through this challenging time I saw the love that New Yorkers have and how we all just come together. People of all religions and ethnicities were there shaking our hands giving us support and letting us know that they support us as Muslims and understand that the teaching of Islam has nothing to do with this act of terror.
We went there to show solidarity & Support for the Victims and their families however we were shown immense love and support by everyone! I am proud to be born in a city that is a shining example of interfaith harmony a city that stands up to hate ! . #PrayForNY #NYstrong
