What I can find solace in, though, is that I belong to the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. Not a single person from my community has committed an act of terrorism even though our community has tens of millions of members and has existed since 1889.

The attempted bombing that occurred in Midtown Manhattan several weeks ago in the name of Islam is a stain on my religion that has to be addressed by Muslims like me.
Why are our alleged Muslim brothers committing these barbaric attacks? I will never be able to understand how they can link their depravity to the peaceful teachings of our great religion.
However, this is not isolated to Islam. Many have killed in the name of all of the world’s major religions, Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism and of course, Islam. I cannot find solace in this fact but it is a fact that has certainly kept me from turning away from my faith.
What I can find solace in, though, is that I belong to the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. Not a single person from my community has committed an act of terrorism even though our community has tens of millions of members and has existed since 1889.
