Another day. Another attack. This seems to be the unfortunate norm. In December, ISIL yet again bombed another site and claimed the lives of at least 41 individuals and injured dozens, this time the target was a Shiite center. This was yet another in a series of attacks against Shiites launched by the Islamic State.
As a member of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, a minority group persecuted daily for practicing our faith, I condemn such attacks as they do not even come close to representing the true Islam.
As this year ends and we reflect upon the events, we saw a spike in violence as the attacks on Syrians and the atrocities in Yemen continued. Rohingya Muslims face persecution and extremists perpetuated violence at every opportunity.
As members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, we however made more efforts to bridge relationships with our fellow Americans. By holding community events to bring us closer and to unite the nation, we will go great lengths to preserve the true teachings of Islam which are to work and sacrifice for the betterment of mankind.
