20 streets will be co-named in Queens New York, including the 85th Road
The City Council passed legislation last Thursday that would co-name streets across the city for 95 influential residents or groups — with 20 of them being in Queens.
In Jamaica Estates, 85th Road will be co-named Ahmadiyya Way after the religious movement, Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, founded in India.
in 2017, Holliswood Community Board had approved co-naming part of 85th Road as "Ahmadiyya Way" to honor a the Holliswood Ahmadiyya mosque.
According to a Queens Chronicle report last year, the section of 85th Road to be co-named runs from 188th Street to the house that abuts the mosque’s parking lot.
