Spurs vs Dortmund
Hello and good morning everyone from this sunny part of the coast.
On Twitter I have posted 9 out of 9 NBA win percentages, getting them all correct and yesterday posted 4 out of 4 winning tennis bets as well as having the Private Members Treble win to start us off on another journey to, we hope, hundreds of pounds again this week after picking up £546 for a £10 starting stake last week.
If anyone wishes to subscribe you'll find a payment button underneath the FORUM tab, as I haven't managed to change that yet, not being a technical guy. The charge is £25 per month but if you send me a message via the contact form on the website then I'll send the selections free for a couple of weeks to get you into profit first.
Right, back to Tottenham and we turn our attention to tonight's big game against Borussia Dortmund.
I expected PSG to beat United last night and they were easily the better side. We hammered the Red Devils but lost 1-0 and last season only went out to the eventual finalists because we lost our concentration for a couple of minutes in each leg, although one goal in the first leg was offside.
If I can take you back to that Juventus game we controlled it in the second half and the pressure was all from us. This season we have gone to Barcelona and grabbed a draw to qualify, despite going 1-0 down.
We are a better side than a lot of our fans give us credit for.
Dortmund are flying, there is no denying that but like Spurs they have players missing too. I would expect Son to play upfront, not Llorente as he has greater movement and is scoring goals.
Rose is a big doubt so Vertonghen at left-back vs Jadon Sancho is intriguing. Experience vs youthful skill. Surely staring in the Bundesliga he'll be given an England cap soon, despite his age.
Dortmund drew 3-3fter being 3-0 up with 15 minutes to go on Saturday and they concede an average of 1.5goals per game, while they score an average of 2.3.
Tottenham concedes an average of 0.8 per game and scores an average of 2 per game.
Statistics suggest that we have an 80% chance of scoring a goal and they have a 90% chance of conceding a goal. Alternatively, they suggest Dortmund have a 100% chance of scoring while we have a 60% chance of conceding.
There is a 60% chance of each side picking up a yellow card.
The last 6 games since 2016 have seen us win 3, lose 2 and draw 1, thus we win 50% of the games, Dortmund win 33.3% and we draw 16.7%.
At home, we have won 1 against them and lost 1.
Our 6 game form in the UEFA Champions League has seen us D W W D L L.
Dortmund 6 game form W D L W W W.
Mauricio Pochettino has won 11 of the 15 games since the end of the group stages and we have won our last three fixtures.
The Germans dropped points against both Eintracht Frankfurt and Hoffenheim and in between lost on penalties to Werder Bremen in the DFB Pokal.
Spurs have scored in 23 of our last 25 games, but we have only kept 1 clean sheet in 7, Dortmund have scored 12 goals in their last 4 games. They have also scored in all but 2 of their last 15 UEFA Champions League games while conceding in 9 of them. In this competition 7 of our last 8 games have seen both teams score.
Some of our fans are pessimistic about the game but you know me, positivity breeds success so I'll be watching in that mind frame and enjoy the spectacle.
