On Twitter Il Secolo XIX (@ilsecoloxix) based in Genoa, is reporting that Tottenham officials held talks with Sampdoria’s Vice-President and Adviser to President: Massimo Ferrero, Antonio Romei on Wednesday after he flew to London to meet several banks.

The topic of discussion was the potential summer signing of 22-year-old (23 in May) highly-rated centre-back Joachim Andersen.

Spurs fans should note that Sampdoria is a Genoa-based club so the information could well be reliable.

The Danish U-21 international centre-back is being tracked by Juventus, Inter Milan, Manchester United.

President: Massimo Ferrero favours tying him down to a new deal with no exit clause so interested parties have to bid for him instead of simply paying his £21.98 million (€25m) release fee.

It is reported that Spurs are willing to offer £30.77 million (€35m) to secure the 1.92 m (6 ft 4 in) defenders signature.

The Italian press simply love to link Spurs with Inter Milan and they are always apparently selling us their players. What they actually mean is that their players continually get offered to Tottenham, quite a different kettle of fish.

The usual name has been wheeled out again with the suggestion that Inter will put Croatian international midfielder Marcelo Brozović up for sale yet again in the summer.

Why? Because they wish to raise funds for their own purchases.

The 26-year-old (27 in November) has previously been tracked by a bunch of clubs, including AS Roma, Tottenham, Arsenal and Bayer Leverkusen.

The suggested figure this time for the central midfielder whose contract runs out in 2022 is £21.98 million (€25m).
