Llorente happy at Spurs
Fernando Llorente says he is happy at Spurs |
Fernando Llorente
There are three clubs reported to be interested in 33-year-old (34 next February) Fernando Llorente. They are Atlético Madrid, who need a replacement for the departing Fernando Torres, Basque side Deportivo Alavés, who have asked to take him on loan and Real Valladolid.
"I am very happy with the Premier League. It is a spectacular championship, with an impressive atmosphere and I am very happy to be living this experience."
What that means is there is interest from Spain and clubs have made tentative inquiries, spoken to his agent to find out what financial package the former Spanish international would want and whether he'd be willing to move, plus what sort of fee Spurs would expect.
With other targets to explore, no official offer has been made and thus it is common PR to express how happy you are where you are and that you are looking forward to giving your all next season.
The words actually mean nothing, they are to appease supporters and to suggest a commitment to whichever club the individual plays for.
Some, who should know better, are reading far too much into it.
