From zip-wiring to climbing trees, hundreds of people with disabilities throughout the borough - children, young people and adults - are able to enjoy the outdoors with the support of charity Elhap, in Roding Lane North.

Ilford South MP Mike Gapes, cllr Debbie Kaur-Thiara and Ahmadiyya Muslim Elders Association leader Mubashir Siddiqui visited the charity [Elhap] to see its five acre grounds and vast adventure playground on Thursday, April 19.

Mr Gapes said: “This is a unique and inspiring facility which is used by many disabled children and young people in Redbridge and much wider.

“It deserves a much higher profile and more support.”

The Ahmadiyya association are organising a charity walk to raise funds for Elhap on September 8, supported by Mr Gapes, cllr Kaur-Thiara and Ilford North MP Wes Streeting among others.
