Taking a nod from the Humboldt tragedy, a constant stream of visitors flocked to a makeshift vigil at Yonge St. and Finch Ave. on Tuesday, a day after a rental van struck and killed 10 people and left 15 others wounded on Yonge St.
They came to express their grief through a wall of flowers, candles and condolences — some were among the first witnesses on the scene.

Throughout the day, some 500 members of a local mosque gathered at the site to host a prayer, carrying banners and posters that read “Love for all; hatred for none.”
“That is the value of our community in line with Canadian values,” said Safwan Choudhry of the Ahmadiyya Muslim community. “We can set an example for the rest of the world of how you react when you’re faced with such horrific tragedy. The Muslim community grieves with you.”
