The Indonesian Ahmadiyya Network (JAI) criticized the United States declaration recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
JAI spokesperson Yendra Budiana said the declaration of US President Donald Trumo made the world political situation heating up.
"Trump's statement is very unwise, which will fuel and increase world tension and not the right choice to continue to build world civilization," Yendra Budiana told Suara.com on Tuesday ( 26/12/2017 ).
According to Yendra, Trump's statement will also potentially trigger a sense of mutual suspicion between Western countries and the Islamic world.
From the beginning, he said, Ahmadiyya supports the independence of the Palestinian state from Israeli occupation. According to Yendra, the conflict between Palestine and Israel is a matter of a nation's freedom to sovereign, not religious.
The Arab countries, according to Yendra, should be responsible for supporting Palestinian people's rights and independence.
For, apart from being the nearest neighbor, the independence and freedom of the Palestinian people is also the responsibility of Arab countries as fellow Muslims.
"Unfortunately, support for a Palestinian state is more likely to be heard from a country located far from Palestine, like Indonesia, but whatever its religion must continue to support the independence and rights of the Palestinian people," he said.
"Jerusalem should remain a city open to all religions," he said.
