Ahmadiyya Muslim Women Association in Oshkosh is hosting our annual women-only Ramadan Iftar dinner and bazaar on May 31
Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar, and this week marks its beginning.
Muslims all over the world will be keeping daily fast for the whole month. Fasting is an ancient practice and is observed in other faiths as well, such as Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, etc. Its primary purpose is to attain righteousness and closeness to God.
The Holy Quran states, “O ye who believe! Fasting is prescribed for you, as it was prescribed for those before you, so that you may become righteous.” (2:184)
