Walker-Peters Injured, Dembele Profit, Lemar Interest
Kyle Walker-Peters
Mousa Dembele
If the Italian reports are correct and we are asking £26.34 million (€30m) for Belgian international Mousa Dembele. We looking considering activating the £12m (€13.67m) release clause of Wilmar Barrios, which if we do, means we'll make a transfer profit.
That basic business practice will upset a lot of fans who don't understand why the club and Dembele have agreed he can leave. We are obviously not going to make it too difficult, given the excellent service he has given us.
In my article on replacing Dembele there is a video of Barrios and while they are misleading, only showing the good bits, he does look impressive and possessing the skills we need to replace.

Inter To Speak To Spurs For Dembele
Thomas Lemar
The article tells us that Spurs are still interested, that he didn't want to join Arsenal last summer, well why would he, they couldn't offer him UEFA Champions League football, and that Liverpool still retains an interest, but are unlikely to sign the 22-year-old (23 in November).
Lemar had a magnificent season for Monaco two seasons ago but didn't match that last season by all accounts. He scored 3 goals and had 10 assists in the Ligue 1, the weakest of the big five European leagues. Lemar played 17 games on the left-wing, 13 games as an attacking midfielder and 2 games on the right wing. He scored 2 goals and created 3 as an attacking midfielder.
In 2016/17 he scored 14 goals and had 17 assists in 55 games. Somewhat of a difference and demonstrates the silly money being asked last summer was not realistic. Monaco wanted, in today's exchange rates, £87.86 million (€100m), in other words, Gareth Bale money. Let's be clear, he is no Gareth Bale, clearly, he has some ability.
Again though this is a player denied a move and he has a terrible season as a result. Coincidence? A lot of coincidences happen if that is the case. You have to know your player mentally before you deny them a move. Injuries have no doubt played their part, but you should always look to mentality first and question that. Satisfy yourself on that score then move on to look at other aspects.
