Ghana: Kumasi Ahmadiyya Students Get Prizes For Francophonie Festival Competition Victory


The French tutor who trained the participants for the contest, Winnefred Mirekuwaa Amankwah expressed concern over the unwillingness of Ghanaians to learn the French language.

The Ashanti Regional Education Directorate has presented prizes to the T. I. Ahmadiyya Girls’ Senior High School (SHS) at Asokore in the Ashanti Region

The school emerged winners in a French drama competition at the 2018 Francophonie Festival held in March this year by Alliance Francaise in Accra.

The school which represented the Ashanti Region at the finals competed against schools including the Chemu SHS, Nalerigu SHS, Kanton SHS and the Akwamuman Senior High Schools (SHSs).

The high school drama competition was on the theme: “Culture and the youth”.

The prizes included; screen projectors, home theatre sets, laptops, books, dictionaries and school bags.
