The APC led government of President Ernest Bai Koroma has responded swiftly to a storm disaster at Mile-91 township which left over 100 buildings damaged.
In a social media statement by Alhaji Sheriff, the Head of the Ministry of Social Welfare, Gender & Children’s Affairs in Tonkolili, “at around the hours of 6pm of 18th April 2017, disaster in the form of a heavy storm with a high velocity magnitude befell Mile 91 in the Yoni Chiefdom of Tonkolili district. Heavy down pour of rain destroyed more than 100 buildings and structures ranging from dwelling houses to educational structures. For example, the two Ahmadiyya Muslim schools and the SLMB primary school got totally unroofed. Women, Children and many vulnerable citizens are all affected.”
