DAYTON, Ohio (WKEF/WRGT) - FOX 45 spoke with local leaders in the Islamic community after a man living in Dayton was arrested at the Cincinnati airport trying to flee to join ISIS.
A criminal complaint against Laith Waleed Alebbini was filed in federal court, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.
The complaint states that Alebbini had only been in the Dayton area since March 1, but had visited an area mosque.
"It impacts our community negatively obviously, but this is an opportunity then for us to explain," said Abdul Shahid, president of the Ahmadiyya Community.
