Those who look in regularly on Zelo Street may remember the case of four men who were charged with raping a 16-year-old girl in a room above a takeaway in Ramsgate, which became a cause célèbre for former EDL head man Tommy Robinson. He had turned up at Canterbury Crown Court with his pet creep Caolan Robertson, only to find himself in trouble for committing contempt of court for filming where it was not allowed.
Paul Golding, Jayda Fransen ... and their new pals
Also homing in on the case were Tommy’s new pals Paul Golding and Jayda Fransen of Britain First, whose campaign progressed not necessarily to their advantage when they were arrested in the Tonbridge area. Kent Live told “Leaders of the radical right wing group Britain First have been arrested … Paul Golding, 35, and Jayda Fransen, 31, were detained yesterday (May 10) on suspicion of inciting religious hatred after posting videos on social media. They have been bailed until next month”.
Golding and Ms Fransen did the usual playing of victimhood, claiming that the Police were agin them and siding with the Scary Muslims (tm), but as with Robinson, they had judged the four men charged with rape to be guilty already. The four were indeed later found guilty, but the far-right’s intervention could have prejudiced the trial.
What constraints were placed upon Golding and Ms Fransen’s movement after their arrest is not known, but it seems the man from Britain First is back in trouble after he was nicked again yesterday. Kent Live once more has the story, under the headline “Britain First leader Paul Golding 'was taken into custody at a Kent police station’”.
Do go on. “The leader of a far-right political party was taken into custody by Kent Police today, according to a video on the group's Facebook page … Britain First deputy leader Jayda Fransen filmed herself outside a police station this afternoon (July 26) saying that Paul Golding had been ‘seized’ by officers and ‘taken into custody’ … The pair are believed to have returned here as part of their bail conditions, after they were arrested in May on suspicion of inciting religious hatred”. And there is more.
“In the video, shown live on the Britain First Facebook page, Ms Fransen said: ‘Paul Golding is currently in custody … I got into this interview room and the police officer in charge of this case has said the CPS need more work to be done’”. But Ms Fransen knew what is was all about: “It's just another reason to keep us on bail … To try and monitor and restrict our activities, which isn't going to work - it never has, I don't know when they're going to wise up”. Kent Live hints at why the detention took place.
“After being arrested Golding and Fransen were released on bail, originally with conditions which barred them from speaking publicly about the trial or visiting a number of properties in Kent … Kent Police has previously not released information about the specifics of Paul Golding and Jayda Fransen's bail conditions”. Seems those conditions may have broken.
The fact of this particular matter will no doubt be made clear later. In the meantime, the Britain First propaganda machine pretends their people are mere victims. And if you believe that, you’ll believe anything.
