TRANSFER TALK
RB Leipzig, who were promoted last season and finished second in the Bundesliga this season to give them UEFA Champions League football next season seem to have won the race to sign Galatasaray winger Bruma.
He has had offers from all and sundry and wanted to double his salary. His Turkish club refused and he refused to sign all contracts they offered him, just as Ross Barkley has done at Everton.
Despite Bruma saying he dreams of playing in the Premier League and he is sure a club will buy him he is set to have a medical for Leipzig. With a year left on his contract most clubs were only willing to go to £9.61 million (€11m - AUS$16.51m - US$12.31m) to secure his services while Galatasaray wanted and it seems the Germans are going to pay £15.73 million (€18m - AUS$27.02m - US$20.14m).
Again there are add-ons to consider, it isn't known what element of the figure is made up of add-ons nor is it know the add-ons other teams were offering. It depends on where the original figure comes from as to how it has been reported. We were reported to have verbally agreed on a transfer fee of around £12.23 million (€14m - AUS$21.02m - US$15.66m).
He has signed for them because they have offered him £110,000 per week, certainly more than we would have offered, or anyone else it seems. The Turkish league is a second tier league and he would have to prove himself in the Premier League before we could contemplate offering him that sort of wage.
He undergoes a medical next week and then becomes an RB Leipzig player.
