The Ahmadiyya community in Mymensingh has started a police case over the attack on the imam of one of its mosque.

 Late on Monday, unidentified men hacked Mostafizur Rahman while he was leaving the mosque at a village in Ishwarganj Upazila after conducting prayers.

Locals managed to nab one of the attackers, who was later identified as Abdul Ahad Mohammad Ullah and handed him to police, reports bdnews24.com.

Ishwarganj police OC Badrul Alam Khan said the community's spokesperson Hajari Al Munir filed a case with them Tuesday night.

The case accuses Ahad and two other unidentified persons for attempt on the imam's life, he said.
