TRANSFER TALK
Joël Ivo Veltman is a 25-year-old (26 next January) Dutch international (he has 14 caps) right-back who can also play as a centre-back, much in the same way Eric Dier and Toby Alderweireld can do, just the sort of versatility Mauricio Pochettino likes.
The right-footed Veltman only has 12 months left on his deal with Ajax, is sponsored by Nike and has been scouted by Spurs on several occasions this season.
He has come through the Ajax youth system and played 30 Eredevisie games this season contributing three assists. he has recently fuelled Tottenham speculation suggesting his wife would jump at the chance of him moving to such a wonderful club based in London.
His latest comments though are that Ajax must keep their young side together and not lose players abroad, rather at odds with his suggestion he'd move if Tottenham came in for him. As we are interested in several Ajax players we will no doubt have undertaken a scouting trip to Stockholm to watch them.
