Mbappe assured no more Monaco players will be sold

TRANSFER TALK

L'Equipe were reporting a couple of days ago that Real Madrid had agree to Kylian Mbappé's request to join them and had renewed their efforts.

There was never a hope he would join Liverpool, who aren't in the UEFA Champions League proper yet and so can't guarantee him the level of football he wants and deserves ahead of a World Cup, or join UEFA Europa League side Arsenal. He played in the UEFA Champions League semi-final this season, of course he will want top wages. The Premier League only allow a wage bill to increase by a set amount and Mbappé's wages would mean they would have trouble staying within the legal limits.

It was reported across the Internet that Mbappé has told Monaco he only wants to join Real Madrid and they are said to be getting closer and closer to agreeing a move, according to the Spanish press.

The French international has a pre-agreement with Real Madrid, he has agreed a move in principle, the details of which are yet to be finalised. At this stage both parties are happy with ball park wage figures.

Monaco don't want to lose him and according to Le Perisien they have offered him a 900% wage increase and assured him that no more players will be sold this summer, which, if true, would scupper any Thomas Lemar move and explain why we haven't followed up initial interest in him..
