We have two new staff at Tottenham Hotspur in a coaching capacity for our academy, namely 45-year-old (46 in September) former England Youth international Wayne Burnett and 51-year-old (52 in October) former Spurs goalkeeper coach Perry Suckling.

Wayne Burnett, who holds a UEFA Pro Licence, is a former midfielder who was most recently manager of Dagenham and Redbridge until his departure on 21 December 2015. He played for Leyton Orient from 1989 until 1992 after which he had spells at Blackburn Rovers, Plymouth Argyle, Bolton Wanderers, Huddersfield Town, Grimsby Town (he scored the winning golden goal in the 1998 Football League Trophy final at Wembley against Bournemouth), Woking, Grays Athletic, Fisher Athletic and Peterborough United.

He then moved into management in 2004 for Fisher Athletic, winning the Southern League Division One East, then Dulwich Hamlet, Fisher Athletic again, Grays Athletic before joining Dagenham and Redbridge in 2013 (February). In 2003-04 he appeared in the Sky One football drama Dream Team.

Perry Suckling is a former England Under-21 player (he won 10 caps) who was appointed the Academy Manager at Queens Park Rangers in May 2015. He played for Coventry City from 1983 until 1986 prior to joining Manchester City, Crystal Palace, West Ham United and Brentford on loan, Ernest Borel (Hong Kong), where he won the Hong Kong Victory Cup in 1992 and the Hong Kong FA Cup in the same season, Watford, Doncaster Rovers, Wits University (South Africa), SuperSport United (South Africa), Dagenham and Redbridge and Kings Lynn.
