TRANSFER TALK
Carlos Javier Abad-Hernández Trujillo, simply known as Carlos, is a Spaniard who plays for Real Madrid Castilla on loan from CD Tenerife as a goalkeeper.
The 21-year-old (22 tomorrow) goalkeeper from Tenerife has finished his loan at Castilla report Marca and Real Madrid has decided not to enforce the £2.66 million (€3m - AUS$4.48m - US$3.4m) purchase clause agreed in his contract. Madrid will concentrate on the development of Zinidine Zidane's son Luca, 19-year-old (20 next May) goalkeeper.
He has three years left on his contract and with the Pau López deal falling through Mauricio Pochettino has moved his focus to Abad.
Tottenham pulled the plug on Luke McGee joining Peterborough and Barry Fry indicated that Tottenham would probably be selling him in August, which rather indicates we don't see him as the number three for next season. It seems it won't be Lopez, he is returning to Espanyol as the two clubs can't agree a fee. Will it now be Abad?
