TRANSFER TALK
There are plenty of Spurs fans panicking over Ross Barkley already blaming Daniel Levy because the press suggest Chelsea have made a supposed £25 million (€27.03m - AUS$40.53m - US$32.28m) bid.
So what. If he wants to work with Mauricio Pochettino, who is is reported, he feels can improve his game the way he has other England internationals, then any Chelsea bid isn't really as issue. It depends upon his will to play under Pochettino and how strong that will is. If it is strong enough then money won't be an issue and any Chelsea throw at him unimportant.
It isn't Everton who will decide where he goes, it will be Barkley himself in conjunction with his agent. The latest news is that Everton have rejected this supposed bid and are waiting on Spurs, who it seems, are the only club that actually want him or the only club he has perhaps let it be known he is prepared to join and thus quashed any potential bids from other potentially interested parties.
Do you think news of a convenient Chelsea bid that's rejected are simply to try and push Spurs hand and stop us waiting until he recovers from injury (reportedly not until at least December) and look to sign him in January or as a free agent next summer?
Save on wages, save on transfer fee. It all makes sense.
