TRANSFER TALK
Tottenham have been chasing young German Max Meyer for a couple of years now. We had three meeting with his father ahead of the UEFA European Championships last summer and we were linked once again earlier in this window.
Now it seems, German daily newspaper Bild are reporting that Spurs are likely to sign him on a pre-contract agreement in January, ahead of the 21-year-old (22 in September) will become a free agent next summer.
We could potentially see max Meyer and 23-year-old (24 in December) Ross Barkley joining next summer it seems with news Barkley is out until at least December. You would expect clubs to be coming in heavily next summer for Dele Alli also.
Given 25-year-old (26 next June) Philippe Coutinho is the subject of an £130 million (€139.79m - AUS$211.85m - US$168.60m) bid from Barcelona, then 21-year-old (22 next April) Dele Alli must command £200 million (€215.13m - AUS$326.09m - US$259.38m) or Gareth Bale plus £150 million (€161.35m - AUS$244.57m - US$194.53m).
Below is a graphic and a Tweet that highlights one of the points I was making in a recent article where with better stats, in today's market, 25-year-old (26 next February) Christian Eriksen must therefore be worth £140 million (€150.54m - AUS$228.30m - US$181.57m).
Eriksen, Coutinho and Gazzaniga
#LFC should take 130mill for #Coutinho. #Eriksen is < 4 months older has much better stats in #EPL and no similar offer! #THFC@BenDinnery
