UK: British Ahmadiyya imam says suspected radical Muslims should be hit with sanctions, passports confiscated


Abdul Arif, who travels the country speaking out against terrorism, said there were “no words” to express how he felt when he learned the attackers screamed “this is for Allah” as they hit on Saturday night.

A British imam fighting terrorism in the UK says sanctions should be slapped on Muslims suspected of being radical.

Abdul Arif travels the country spreading the true meaning of Islam to youngsters and said yesterday his heart was “bleeding tears on two accounts” after seven were killed at London Bridge .

He added: “Firstly, my city and fellow Londoners have been targeted and suffered at the hands of these barbaric savages, and secondly, these savages have tarnished the face of my peaceful religion.”

He said passports should be taken off those on the security service’s radar.

“The responsibility of the government is the safety of its people. They need more than surveillance, there needs to be action taken,” he said.
